People should understand that if any retail outlet says that you have to wear blue or green shorts in order to be served, they can. Retail outlets are private property and customers must adhere to the rules set out by the retailer.
As long as it's not discriminatory the retailer sets the rules. For instance you can't make a purchase at Costco (with the exception of prescriptions which might be a Canadian thing) without being a member.
There was the story about the baker who refused to bake a cake for a gay couple and it ended up in the Supreme Court in the US. The baker won based on the fact that it was against his religion to do so.
I live in a city of 100,000 and we have had 35 cases since the beginning, 34 of whom have recovered and one is active now. Nowhere is it required for me to wear a mask. They are the exception, not the rule. For that I feel very lucky.

Since the onset of this pandemic, I wear a mask when in public. Basically, I continue to wear a mask to protect myself from EVERYONE ELSE and to feel reasonably certain that I'm doing what is necessary to to ensure that I'm not going to compromise my parents health and safety.

It's peculiar to hear some folk's spin on wearing a mask. Our local store(s), ie Kroger, post to wear a mask. Some folks seem to have the "fuck it" attitude and will not comply. I overheard a local merchant, who was doing her grocery shopping, being boisterous on the matter. It was amusing to overhear her rationale regarding her "right" not following the posted "order".

I think many many people are a little confused about the wearing of masks. Wearing a mask is NOT the law. It's merely a suggestion/recommendation. Nothing more, nothing less. These super citizens damned and determined to enforce such a thing upon others, should mind their own fucking business. Unless of course, it's THEIR business and they have posted the requirement to enter THEIR premises. In which case, rather than becoming combative with a person simply refuse service and call the police for assistance (as long as they still exist and haven't been "defunded"). According to the experts, if there is such a person(s), the wearing of masks does not really guarantee that you won't be infected by the Chinese virus. That would require filtered respirators. Also, that the effectiveness of the "face mask" is moreso for those that are already infected by said Chinese virus. Facemasks are faaar more likely to help from spreading the virus outwardly than inwardly. If it's posted as a requirement and you don't wish to comply, leave! Go somewhere else, have a little respect. If given a choice, one way or the other, choose wisely for you and those around you.

MIAMI – As Florida passes a tough milestone for coronavirus cases, several South Florida mayors are getting tougher with their mask mandate.

On Monday, hours after the state surpassed 100,000 cases of COVID-19, the mayors of nearly a dozen cities in Miami-Dade County announced that they will be requiring people to wear face coverings in public.

I think that the Walmart personnel took their job way too seriously. The woman (?) attempted to stop the elderly man from entering Walmart and her initial attempt failed. It doesn't make sense to me why she continued to engage with the man, me, since her initial efforts failed, she could have chosen to call the local police. To get into a pushing and shoving match which resulted in the elderly guy falling down, was unnecessary and could probably result in a lawsuit. And just an observation, the Walmart lady was NOT wearing her mask properly.

I took my Son to the local Goodwill, he likes to search for antiques. He entered and within minutes come back out and grabbed a facemask from the car. He said the woman told him he had to WEAR it or he wasn't welcome. Ok... As I was sitting there, two more people tried to get in, also not wearing masks. Both came right back out within minutes, one retrieved their mask from their car the other left. Black lady pulls up, gets out her car, no mask. She goes in, I expect to see her shortly, nope... Turns out the worker did in fact say something to her but she began to get loud and make it out to be racially motivated. In which case she was allowed to continue shopping.

If you can smell anything thru the mask,how can you make sure it is going to stop the virus. Dgraff will understand this,the micron rating on air ,fuel filters and oil filters is very important on vehicals,if the micron rating is to high on a filter it will decrease oil pressure,or cut down on fuel flow and really ruin a engine.
Similar situation with a mask,a hanky over your nose is not going to stop much more than a golf ball as far as a virus is concerned.

Phart, in the province I live in, Alberta, Wendy's, McDonalds and Tim Horton's donuts are giving a four pack of medical masks to any customer that wants them. These are being supplied by the Alberta government. In my city of 100,000 there is ONE active Covid case as of today.
