I have probably bought 10 lottery tickets during my whole life.Before our state had it,my job put me right at the state line and I was able to go to service stations that had them.I never won anything.A couple people in my area have won sizable amounts.I know of 2 twin brothers that bought a ticket and won 1 million on it. They had just sold their familys farm and had become millionaires from that,and then won the lottery. They did buy a new deseil ford pickup and a side by side 4x4 atv. But they still live in a grey unpainted house that is about to fall in.
They are happy,that is all that matters.

About ten years ago a friend of my Dad’s was in the process of moving out of town and about two weeks before they left they won $14 million. They disappeared out of town and we’re never heard from again. They were moving to a town where their kids and grandkids lived so I’m sure they’re living happily ever after now.

Jamie, The politics of the USA have major repercussions in other countries. There's a saying I'll paraphrase. When the USA sneezes other countries get the flu. The average man on the street sees us invade Afghanistan and may complain. How dare they? Well, our allies are expected to help. Their fellow citizens have to go to war. Or, the US decides to drop out of NATO. That makes Europe in huge danger of war with Russia. Then, there are things that people look at as being wrong no matter who does it. Separating illegals from their children is one of them. In another thread a member complained that the US has meddled in their elections. The average person would have a big hatred of our country. And let me remind you, they are thinking about their country. Now, don't come back and tell me I'm anti-American. All you need to do is research why these members complain. Some have the wrong idea but we compound it by not listening to them.

You're right, Jamie, but unfortunately what happens in the US, and the decisions it's government make have a bigger impact on other countries than any other country in the world. This is why foreign countries pay more attention to the US elections than any other countries election.

You may have a point, from time to time I have chipped in on a few threads. From my point of view if the US were some tin pot little country in Africa or Asia I wouldn't waste my time. However, the US is not a tin pot little country, and what it and it's President does can have a huge effect on many other countries. That is why non US citizens are interested/ concerned about what happens in the US, because it may affect them.

phart I applaud your caring for neighbors and friends. What I disagree is that you blame Obama-Care for their rise in cost of their medical expenses without having any recourse. The other thing is that as a true Trump supporter, why, after 4 years in power, nothing was done for your friends. Was there no medicare, medicade, social security extra emergency pay, or food stamps to offset the medical costs? As far as hardship, I doubt midical costs are causing your friends hardship. Wouild it, perhaps, be that after the bursting of the housing bubble many people were not able to go back to their high paying jobs?

After being on the phone nearly a hour this morning dealing with my dads insurance that Obama made a mess of by causeing the companys to change the way they were paid,it is frustrating to me that it cost more and is more trouble paper work wise and time wise for the person and family attending to it.

We all have our opinions of different areas of our country. Harris is a public figure. She knows there are people like you that think the worst about her, even though she hasn't started her new job.
