Of course it won't be 100% effective but damn it's a good idea and you have to rip the Band-Aid off somewhere.
I just wonder how long it will take the kids will find a workaround.
Besides children, the people who really don't like this would be ped0ph1les and perverts.
I’m only stating facts. There is no way to enforce this ban. It’s all for show, and nothing more. It’s the moral equivalent of wishing on a star.
This is the moral equivalent to what they’re doing in Australia: A person is swimming twenty-five yards out in the water, when he suddenly realizes he can’t make it back to shore.
He sees people on the beach and he begins to call to them just as he begins struggling to stay afloat.
The people on shore hear his cries and look out on the water and locate the struggling person.
But, instead of heading out on the water to effect his rescue, they all begin praying that he gets saved. They all pray really, really hard.
And, he slips under the water and drowns.
Here’s what they all say afterward: Well, we did something. At least we tried.
Same thing.
Same Same
They can now claim, with puffed up chests, “Look, everyone! We did something,” even though it’s totally and utterly meaningless!
However, if we accept that this is whistling in the wind, then, as a very smart man, what do you recommend should be done short of shutting down the internet?
In a perfect world, more parents would be more attentive and protective of their children. This is not a perfect world, however. People are flawed.
The ironic part is that government is made up solely of people. As stated above, people are flawed.
Why should we, then, trust government to always do the right thing, if the people in it are just as imperfect as the rest of us?
One thing is for sure: we can always trust the government to make a bad situation worse. Not even religion has had the ability to make the world right, and religion has been around far longer than government. The problem with religion, is the same as the problem with government: there are people involved in it.
A problem exists, and government’s solution, more often than not, is to make feel-good empty gestures for bragging rights, that is, when it's not trampling all over human rights. Doing “something" then becomes justification for spending more of our hard-earned money, just to micro-manage our lives.
The solution is to stop wanting the government to fix our lives and to take responsibility for ourselves. Modern societies have become far too reliant on government to solve their problems. That nonsense must stop, because government, whether through sheer incompetence or maliciousness, will ultimately be the end of human dignity and the death of humanity.
Anarchists want the world to burn. They produce nothing but misery. I want the world to be protected, because I live in it. I merely don’t want the State to tell me how I should live my life, so long as I am harming no one.
It’s not a black and white world. Why do you seem to insist that it is by labeling me an anarchist? Do you actually believe that there are only two sides in this issue: total submission/dependency or total anarchy?
Okay, you are not an anarchist. I didn’t label you. Thanks for that clarification. It was more of a question by me than a statement, but, you are a conservative, right leaning, citizen, right? So, let me ask you, what do you think of the EPA, the WHO, abortion, gun control, conservation laws, and treatment of illegal aliens? Because, in my book, many people want to live their lives in a cocoon where they don’t care about their neighbors. They just, and I quote, “don’t want the State to tell me how I should live my life, so long as I am harming no one.”
And no, I don’t believe “ that there are only two sides in this issue: total submission/dependency or total anarchy?” and I never said that. I notice you project to conclusions that are not what I’ve written (I do that too, sometimes 🤣
Why is it always a worst case scenario?
Government has been usurping the family unit for decades now. Look at the cities with the worst crime statistics. The family units are virtually non-existent in those communities, because government stepped in and told people, “You can’t do this alone. We’re here to help.”
You destroyers just can’t leave things alone.
Those family units that are virtually non-existent are a huge problem. I agree, but, without Big Government, how do you propose we deal with it? And before you say there’s too much red tape and waste of resources (and I agree with that), remember, nothing is perfect but something has to be done. Individual help is needed but it’s nowhere enough. Government help has to be.
