If there are any avid fishermen or women in the forum reading this, please help me out.

Why do people fish in the middle of the night using big bright lights? I've noticed these folks fishing using a very serious lighting system, that does not necessarily mean "hey, boater, don't crash into me". I'm not sure if the light is directed into the water to spot fish, either. This oddity is something that can be seen in the marsh area nearby, not on a large lake.

The only time lights are use down here in Florida is for shrimping. Not sure if the great lakes are completely freshwater or brackish. And I'm not sure if shrimp come out of the great lakes?

I don't think that there are shrimp up here. I live on the St. Clair River that connects Lake Huron to Lake St. Clair that connects to the Detroit River that connects to Lake Erie..... These folks fishing, were fishing in St. John's Marsh, not a river or a lake.

My neighbor's brother-in-law caught a HUMONGOUS salmon the other day and in my location on my side of the state, we are apparently known for sturgeon. I really don't have any idea what sturgeon tastes like or if it is considered a "good" eating fish.

I used to fish off a stone jetty on the Susquehanna river in port deposit Maryland there was a Phillips 66 sign with flood lights pointing down at the water the bugs would land on the light and burn them selves falling in the water the small fish would come to the top to eat the bugs the big fish would come in to eat the small fish and I would using a salmon net scoop up the big fish

I just can't begin to imagine what was going through the minds of all those young men, 18, 19 20 as they were leaving their landing craft and heading for th beaches. What incredible bravery. Those who survived and were part of the celebrations of the 75th anniversary were just so humble.

There were several "specials" on TV last night commemorating the event 75 years ago. Yes, many of the soldiers were just "boys" at the time and for those men, young and old to show such bravery......
