This yo-yo reached out to me today and asked me to verify him. I popped over to his profile, noted he has been a member for slightly more than 3 months, no verification picture posted, green tick mark already displayed. I noticed that he was already verified and by 3 SYC members. I did respond back telling him that he was already verified and his response to me was "the more the merrier". I have never interacted with this SYD member therefore I would never consider verifying him so I wrote back; "I suggest that you reach out to verified members on your friend's list as those are the people that know you."
People, what are you thinking of when you just give your verification?
I don't know him, I have never interacted with him, I don't know him or his character from Adam. BOOM! You want to verify people that you really don't know, that's up to you but I will politely tell them "no".
Loosing the right to verify would not change much for me, but, if the punishment for being wrong is loosing that "privilege" then WTF do we have to be members for a year?

Good deed? You consider verifying members a "Good deed"? YOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO VERIFY ANY MEMBER. Are you trying to mirror a former member's actions?
Question; would you co-sign for something for someone you don't know? What's the difference between that and when you verify a member? Nothing. You have verified that they are legit and that's on you.
On the second part, co-signing denotes financial responsibility for a contractual obligation. Verification, for all the hoolabaloo we make of it, is not very important to any member except those that need to be sure they don't say, " I love you." to the wrong gender. Heaven forbid, in a site originally dedicated to gay men, that would happen.

- In case if it's discovered that verified member is actually a fake, all members who verified this member get their verified status revoked, their ability to verify permanently blocked AND ALL VERIFICATIONS GIVEN BY THEM IN THE PAST TO OTHER MEMBERS ARE ALSO REVOKED WHICH MAY CAUSE FURTHER " CHAIN REACTION"
Seems to me the spanking is for a whole group.
I feel it's odd that someone unknown to me would contact me to ask for verification. I am not obligated to verify them. I will leave it up to those that think they are earning some type of scouting badge for their good deed.
So you think admin's punishment is to severe for a false verification? I don't. You don't get banned from the site, you don't lose your verification status, you only lose your ability to verify and vouch for other members being real and that, in my opinion, is a reasonable punishment.
I've been associated with SYC/SYD for several years.
Most of the time I've had the pleasure of meeting some very nice, sweet, and horny people. The majority of the time was with male members. They are all unique. Some are great lookers. Others are good conversationalists. Some are real dicks. That last sentence is the reason for this post.
I am not a shrinking violet and thanks to three brothers, a father associated with the military, and growing up in the South, I can be fiesty and potty mouth. I also have a short fuse and when I'm wound up, anything can come out of my mouth. As a result, I have uttered cheap, racist, homophobic and crude comments.
For that I apologize profusely for uttering them. It's like yelling "FUCK" when you stub your toe, one goes back to the basics. I'm not apologizing to the members that those comments were directed at. Most of those where posted for the simple reason these dicks deserved it.
It's hard to keep a straight face accusing me of being homophobic when Woody58 has sex with men in front of me while I cheer him on. And racist can't possibly apply when I've had long time affairs with colored men, foreign men, Jew, Gentile, and Moslem, even women.
