Your views, thoughts or simply opinions. The Economy is not well (understatement). I know there are some here that will try to link the country they are residing in as problems of the USA. Sorry the USA cannot be responsible for 100% of the problems in the world nor should they be expected to help repair all problems.

Will Trump show up for deposition, to provide evidence against Michael Cohen,
for HIS OWN $500 million defamation lawsuit against Michael Cohen?

If Trump doesn't show up, the defamation lawsuit will mostly be dismissed 'with prejudice' by the judge. That's not just bye bye $500 million, but it will make it ease for Michael Cohen to countersue Trump, possibly for even more money. Michael Cohen can actually present a good case for damages. He went to prison for Trump.

Here is Michael Cohen talking about it:

Key words 'with prejudice'. Surprised you know what that means or do you?
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 03,Oct,23 11:33 other posts
It means 'permanently'. Bye bye lawsuit, with no possibility to start another.
Except for Michael Cohen. It would be easy to countersue Trump.
And since a judge already ruled that Michael Cohen was right about Trump's financial fraud, easy to win too.

But, were not there yet. It's going to be fun to see Trump loose again
and see Michael Cohen be incredible smug and hateful about it. He's very good at it.

Now my country isn't socialist enough for you?

Yeah, I agree, but I'm trying my damned best here.
If I give up, I can move to Norway, Finland, Sweden or Denmark.

It's a bit cold there during the winters now, but climate change will solve that in a few years. Another decade later, I can move to Iceland. An island is a good idea. It's a bit harder to reach for all the refugees from hotter climates fleeing deathly heat and drought. I wouldn't call it Utopia though, more the 'last refuge' for humanity to survive.

Ok obama called up Nostradamus to get a time table on when this was going to happen? And apparently leaving it to his daughters is not a priority either? Of course, it may be haunted now that the chef was found murdered,uh ,drowned according to the media ,with fingers cut off and files missing from his computer. When you think of writing a tell all book about a clinton or a obama, you better HIDE
By CAT-2 [Ignore] 25,Sep,23 09:12 other posts
Ok?
Ocean rising is only a problem now, for countries like mine,
because strengthening all the sea barriers takes many decades
and costs many billions of dollars/euros.
Obama doesn't have to worry about that house getting swallowed by the ocean
for decades. And he doesn't have to worry at all, because he's rich!

The location of that house is however very much in the NORTH of your country,
where it is nice and cool in the summer. He can afford that luxury.

You keep recycling the same tired arguments, after they failed.
Do you think they work better the second, fifth or tenth time?
They can be demolished by the same arguments, every time.
Try to find arguments that cannot be demolished.
Depends where you live. In about 30 years, Texas will be as hot as parts of Africa and the Middle-East are now. That will mean that there will be 48 days of temperatures over 97 °F and some days with temperatures up to and over 125 °F each year.

That's why so many people want to leave from Africa and the Middle-East. In 30 years, those parts of the world will be unfit for survival. the same will happen in South America. If you think you are having an immigration problem now; you ain't seen nothing yet.

Why is there so much controversy over this song? Come on liberals you made it popular as hell.

Here it is with the lyrics below.

Rich Men North Of Richmond ~ Oliver Anthony

only registered users can see external links

I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day
Overtime hours for bullshit pay
So I can sit out here and waste my life away
Drag back home and drown my troubles away

It's a damn shame what the world's gotten to
For people like me and people like you
Wish I could just wake up and it not be true
But it is, oh, it is

Livin' in the new world
With an old soul
These rich men north of Richmond
Lord knows they all just wanna have total control
Wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do
And they don't think you know, but I know that you do
'Cause your dollar ain't shit and it's taxed to no end
'Cause of rich men north of Richmond

I wish politicians would look out for miners
And not just minors on an island somewhere
Lord, we got folks in the street, ain't got nothin' to eat
And the obese milkin' welfare

Well, God, if you're 5-foot-3 and you're 300 pounds
Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds
Young men are puttin' themselves six feet in the ground
'Cause all this damn country does is keep on kickin' them down

Lord, it's a damn shame what the world's gotten to
For people like me and people like you
Wish I could just wake up and it not be true
But it is, oh, it is

Livin' in the new world
With an old soul
These rich men north of Richmond
Lord knows they all just wanna have total control
Wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do
And they don't think you know, but I know that you do
'Cause your dollar ain't shit and it's taxed to no end
'Cause of rich men north of Richmond

I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day
Overtime hours for bullshit pay

You're right, liberals did not react well to this song.
But why did the right-wing grifters pushed this song so much?
They don't give a fuck about poor people. They love kickin' them down.

Liberals and lefties made a mistake, by attacking the right on praising this song.
They should have first embraced the message about the working class struggle,
which this song is about and only then talk about the more problematic parts of it.

Here is that crazy lefty again, who you all like to dump on, just for his appearance
and not his message. He points out how liberals and lefties missed an opportunity:
You can skip the first 1m30s: only registered users can see external links

However, I shall point out those problematic parts of this song:

"Rich Men North Of Richmond" is a reference to the American Civil War. Richmond was one of the capitals of the confederate states of America. Blaming the North for the abject poverty of the South is a very old victim complex, that might have been correct in the past, but is certainly nonsense now. It's fully self inflicted.

"These rich men north of Richmond. Lord knows they all just wanna have total control" Why keep bringing the North into it? No one gives away total control to the rich like the red south does.

"Cause your dollar ain't shit and it's taxed to no end. Cause of rich men north of Richmond" Inflation? Blame Trump, blame Putin, blame rich men, but again, why keep bringing the North into it? No one gives away total control to the rich like the red south does.
Taxes? Sure, blame Trump for tax-cuts for the wealthy, so you poor people need to pick up the tab.

"the obese milkin' welfare" obesity is mostly a poor people problem. 70% of food stamp recipients are working their asses off, just like 'you'. Cheap food is all unhealthy factory shit. Blaming obese people or welfare recipients, for your poverty is you buying in to stupid right-wing propaganda. Blame the actual problem: rich people and leave out the 'north of Richmond' part.

"Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds"
They don't, that's also you buying in to stupid right-wing propaganda. Blame the actual problem: rich people and leave out the 'north of Richmond' part.

"Young men are puttin' themselves six feet in the ground, 'Cause all this damn country does is keep on kickin' them down" Indeed! how about raising the minimum wage and stop putting young people in debt for life, if they just want an education. No group is kickin' down young people more, than Republican voters, telling them that they are lazy, no good for nothing, stupid woke kids, who don't respect their elders and the fucking country and they should just shut up and work for the rich men .... In the mean time those Republican voters are destroying their future, by denying climate change, polluting water and the air, making education unaffordable and destroying any chance of getting a well paying job, to repay their tons of student debt.

"Lord, it's a damn shame what the world's gotten to
For people like me and people like you
Wish I could just wake up and it not be true"
Indeed, wake up and stop voting for Republicans, who just see you as cheap labor for their billionaire donors.

Shows how little you know of southern history'

car·pet·bag·ger
/ˈkärpətˌbaɡər/
noun
derogatory•informal
plural noun: carpet-baggers

a political candidate who seeks election in an area where they have no local connections.
historical
(in the US) a person from the northern states who went to the South after the Civil War to profit from the Reconstruction.
a person perceived as an unscrupulous opportunist.
"the organization is rife with carpetbaggers"

I think it was Ronald Reagon that said the words most hated were "We are from the government and we are here to help you".
Ye right. Had the north really gave a damn about the south they would not have burned it to the ground. The north wanted the entire SOUTH to be it's slave and to this day, purty much is if you really closely examine the way the southern people are hated and taken advantage of.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 23,Aug,23 10:55 other posts
That term carpet-bagger is not even in the song.
But, OK, explain what history I'm missing then.

Explain in what way southern people are 'taken advantage of'.
Do you need to go back 100 years, or more? You are saying that black people shouldn't complain about their history anymore, right? Why then can the South?

The southerners might be hated, but then the are hated BACK, because, damn
does that southern hate for northerners run deep. I can feel that from 4000 miles away.
By phart [Ignore] 23,Aug,23 14:12 other posts
Carpet baggers are the 1's that came down here to a war torn country that their own people tore up, claiming to want to help. They only wanted to finish stealing and destroying the south.
Ok for example, a apple orchard here in the NC mountains. gets a crop of apples, the company that buys their apples, ships all the good 1's to New york and other northern states, leaving us the "seconds", Don't believe me, go talk to the growers yourself.

Where do alot of black people live,in the south, who uses the black people for their votes then turns their backs on them, the northern democrats. '

And where do you get this crock of shit from?
""Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds"
They don't,"
Just where the hell does the money for welfare and food stamps come from if it is not from taxes?????????
OUT of a hat? Out of bidens ass? NO, from TAXES!
The government is only able to give what it has taken
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 24,Aug,23 04:24 other posts
Do you think they are providing food stamps for bags of fudge rounds?
He's just indoctrinated to think taxes are just keeping people lazy and fat.
Welfare is one thing; a compensation for people who are exploited by employers,
so they can make more profits. Your tax-dollars are not going to fat lazy people,
they are going into the pockets of the rich. (or at least 95% of them)

Why do you think he starts the song with the following?:
"I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day"
"Overtime hours for bullshit pay"
By tecsan [Ignore] 24,Aug,23 23:44 other posts
Let me get this straight, you suggest we vote for joey who has been influence pedaling for years and now is running interference for his son to save his own sorry ass. He is absolutely the worst excuse for a human being ever. That fire is getting hot.

"Come on man" gun charges and tax evasion to mention two. Really trying to hide it from a judge, how damn ignorant can these libs be? Feel free to answer that. Ananas2xLekker
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 29,Aug,23 09:49 other posts
Those gun charges against Hunter have NEVER been used against anyone else before, other than added on to other crimes like armed robbery. So that's bullshit.
If they get him for tax evasion, fine by me. Actually, I'm bothered about the prosecution making this a case where Hunter could get one of his charges dropped for the other.
If he's actually corrupt, I want Hunter to go down for corruption, not some stupid gun charge.

But, that's still the SON of the president. You have voted for a candidate that was implicated in crimes HIMSELF. He recently has been found liable for r@pe and now he's facing uncountable indictments. The evidence for all of the crimes he is indicted for is overwhelming. Isn't he trying to hide it from a judge? He's also delaying, obstructing and threatening witnesses and everyone else associated with these court cases, even the jury. At this point, I cannot say you are being ignorant, because you are aware of all of it.

Well, you can point fingers and talk "shit" about the mans music, but have you ever had a chance to turn down a 8 million dollar recording contract?
only registered users can see external links

If a record company see's that much potential, I think the mans message must have merit with a large % of the population.
I can understand he resisting the contract but not turning it down, I would have negotiated a cheaper price BUT with the understanding i would be singing some of my own music.
When a company pays you 8 million, they will expect you to sing their songs and convey their message.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 29,Aug,23 09:15 other posts
The claim that he turned down that money, made me reconsider that he's a right-wing grifter and now I'm just thinking he's very confused about politics, like most Americans.

Still, his music isn't that special. He just wrote a very political song, which was seen by right-wingers as an opportunity to make belief that their billionaire funded propaganda against taxes and welfare is good for the working class, and they would love to give him millions to continue doing that.

He starts by saying that he's bothered that people wrap politics up into this. That's being oblivious to reality. If you write an undeniably political song, with very mixed messages in it, in a very politically divided country, you are bound to raise attention.

Now that Oliver Anthony has spoken out against those Republicans elites, standing on the debate stage, talking about his song, to clarify that his song was more about them and less about Biden, he's not so popular with right-wingers anymore.
only registered users can see external links
"That song has nothing to do with Joe Biden..."
"...That song was written about the people on that stage."

I guess you didn't hear about that.

He still considers himself apolitical. If he didn't intend his song to be political, than he is rather confused, but if he intended to write a song that would stir up as much political attention as possible, he's an absolute genius. The whole world is talking about him.

The funny thing is that the first time I heard about him was one of my socialist party contacts sending a link to me, thinking it was a leftist working class protest song.
I discussed my concern about the mixed messaging in that song, way before anyone in this forum mentioned it.

Most poor people are working like slaves, for almost nothing.
But they tell you they are fat and lazy, so they can cut the last bit of help people need to survive. That will make people even more desperate, so the rich can lower wages even more. China is becoming too expensive, so they will move the sweatshops to the US. 'Made in the USA', but by Americans who are dirt poor.

They way you are talking about poor people, other Republicans are talking about you. Maybe you're not fat, but to everyone who has your ideas, you are expendable. Everything that you rely on to live, should be eliminated in their opinion. Maybe you think you are not getting any help from the government, but wait until Republicans are in power again. They will lower taxes for the wealthy even more and make up the difference by taxing you more and cut expenses on you more.

If you really get no help from the government, that's a fucking disgrace,
because your situation is not your fault. You should have an income
and free healthcare, payed for by taxing the rich.

I have a meeger income from my employer, cut by what social security would have paid, for another 16 months, and 70=30 insurance that don't cover nothing like it used to, we lost our good insurance thanks to obama.Thankfully in jan of 2025 things will be getting much better for me.
I did nothing to deserve the "rich" paying my way. I worked for a employer, the agreement was I got insurance the rest of my life and there was a retirement. I did my job until I couldn't then again, that's when obama screwed things up and changed social security, taking away the back pay and making it more difficult for back injury to be used to get disability. This info from my lawyer that stood to make alot of money had obama not screwed it up. This not just my blathering as you might call it. BUT at the same time ,made being morbidly obese a disability. A real head scratcher, A stomach staple and a diet plan can fix that, only our Creator can fix my issues.
Sad thing I have had to cope with, august 2d, I coulda got my "gold watch" and retired with a full 30 years service. and had my plans worked ,I would be in a Kenworth right now hauling freight on the interstate, not because I would have to but because I would have fulfilled a life long dream of being a over the road trucker. My 30 years would have made sure I had insurance, and a steady check and the truck would have put me all over the USA to see the sights.

I’ve never heard of a company providing health insurance for life. ObamaCare was designed to provide insurance to people that did not have access to employer provided insurance. Everyone I know that is from my generation has experienced NO HEALTH INSURANCE in between jobs. For everyone that is unfortunate like you (your lawyer must have been a dud) there are hundreds, if not MILLIONS, who are very happy they have insurance without dependence on employment. Even when the Republicans had the advantage in Congress, they were not able to repeal ObamaCare. Doesn’t that tell you something?

All depends on where you worked until recently as to your coverage.
Both Duke and my employer have DROPPED medical insurance for retiree's since ocare came along. It simply cost to much.

I don't know the answer to that as far as layoff. I would think back in the day most people had the chance to get jobs with good large companies that offered benifits.
They chose to job hop for a nickel a hour raise and so on and not build up any seniority and that left them with out a retirement plan.He had a job offer Southern Bell telephone or the company he chose, both had the good benifits package, but the company he went with had similar trucks to what he serviced in the army and he enjoyed it,.
"we lost our good insurance thanks to obama"
Explain and support that statement please.

You worked and got injured on the job. That's why the government
and the rich owes you. It's called the social contract.

as for what they cover over a certian amount.A accident with a angle grinder last year cost me over 3000 dollars out of pocket AFTER insurance.
2016 , I thought I was having a heart attack, after it was all said and done,my part of the bill was somewhere around 5k.
I took my tax records showing income and etc and sat down at this big desk with the hospital administrator. She looked things over and her words were ,best as I can quote, if you didn't have this insurance we could write off this entire bill.
She went on to reduce the bill as much as possible within hospital rules and it was down to about 3000,which a family member after about 6 months of watching me struggle with monthly payments, gave me the money to pay it off.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 01,Sep,23 04:59 other posts
Let me first say that this health insurance plan completely sucks.
Even what we have now is 100x better than that. It has become a lot more expensive since 2009, with higher co-pays and less coverage, but it's still way better.
In 2023, I pay $158,72 per month, including $10 for an extra package that covers more physical therapy and my chiropractor, which covers for $150/year and then saves me $30/year.
Our national co-pay is a maximum of $417.77. All emergencies are fully paid for by the insurance. All elective procedures are partially paid for by the patient, up to that maximum of $417.77 per year.
Some medication is not covered by the insurances, but it's tax-deductible, if it's over a limit, depending on income.

Obama care does have some advantages over the previous health insurances, that you are not mentioning. It did away with pre-existing condition exclusions, which the insurances used to fuck over many people.

Obama care isn't the publicly funded healthcare that progressives wanted, what the UK has and what my country had, before the government privatized our public system. It is still a big give-away to corporations. And they had all the incentives to screw their customers, to show you how bad Democrats are, as a revenge for Democrats trying to rein them in from screwing the public a bit. Then Trump came and said he would make healthcare better and cheaper. He had 4 years to do something, but only made it worse.

Your private health insurance system is the #1 most expensive health insurance system in the world, and always has been. Since our public system was privatized, the price shot up so fast that ours is now the #2 most expensive health insurance system in the world. However, in many rating systems, we have the #1 best healthcare and the US is mostly not even in the top 10.
The only people who profit from your health insurance system are the owners and shareholders of insurance companies, pharma companies and wealthy people who can pay for the best healthcare, when they need it. Everyone else has to ration their healthcare usage, has to settle for sub-standard healthcare and in case of an emergency has a risk of medical bankruptcy.

The cheapest healthcare systems in the world, that also provide decent healthcare for most citizens are ALL public healthcare systems.

One question. I read your first line Ananas2xLekker and why in the hell should anyone in the USA listen to a foreigner want to be North American.

Because you really need some other perspectives than you get from
your echo chamber, to understand how much you are screwed.

What the heck are you talking about, you are from another country. Doubt your system works the same as here and thankfully it does not. I do not understand how you think you can argue with people that live here. I am sure the benefits in The Netherlands are different, but probably a similar knockoff of what we have here. Probably learned from our mistakes seeing how our democracy has been around longer.

Ananas2xLekker, I sure wish we could send your bleeding heart some of our illegals. Yes we let it happen but not because of my vote. I would never vote for a libtard that supports this crap. You know I am right. Under Trump we had a secure border. Hell, Obummer had a more secure border. You are a hypocrite like I said.

"Doubt your system works the same as here and thankfully it does not"
WHY, do you keep thinking your system is preferably?
That system does nothing for you.

You are right that your democracy is older. Maybe be have learned from your mistakes, but you had more time to perfect democracy. But, it's funny you talk about democracy at all, because you made clear that you don't care about the constitution and you only use it as a talking point when it suits you. The Trump cult now shows that they want democracy completely destroyed, because of the failed coup of their dear leader. It is destroying your own party. Even the mummy of Biden could win at this point.

Immigration is just one talking point they use to have you vote against your own best interests, just like CRT and transgenders. Immigration is a problem, but you understand that your country is dependent on illegal workers and you have no solutions for it, other than closing the border. Ron DeSantis showed in Florida what happens then. The real solution is allowing LEGAL migrant workers and stopping the exploitation of desperate people.
Biden is doing a better job at that then Trump could even imagine.
My country is doing better than your country, to do it how I propose.
Your country has an illegal employment problem, we don't have that.

Whatever problems we do have with immigration is caused by our right-wing party cutting immigration services. Now they have no staff enough to judge the applications of immigrants who have no refugee status and should be sent back to their countries ASAP. Because of those cuts and the housing shortage that the right-wing party has caused, we do not enough temporary housing for the real refugees, from Ukraine. They are welcome here, to live and work LEGALLY, until they can return to their own country, to build it back up.

You can say whatever you want, but you have not provided any arguments,
for why am supposedly a hypocrite.

Maybe Biden got inspired by the first two lines of the song:
I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day
Overtime hours for bullshit pay

Companys will just do more of what they have been doing to get around this, hire part timers. cheaper and more profitable.

That's what the unions are for.
Biden is doing a lot to help unions too.

So, what is your solution?

Biden is only preparing to get his next ice cream cone and get his diaper changed. Tell me who is his puppet master.

Obama that who
There are of course a lot of Democrats working to do what Biden promised.
If Biden is just the mascot for this pro-worker legislation, that's fine too.
The democrats can have a potted plant as a president and still be better.
"Here is president Fern McLeafy. He will raise your minimum wage!"

Still a lot better than Trump, who said he was pro-worker but didn't do anything
but give tax-cuts to the rich, that didn't trickle down. Because that is a scam!
