It was only time for this crime to happen..... Do you have to register drones?

It happens more than you would think
By bella! [Ignore] 26,Jun,23 07:47 other posts
My guess is that it does happen more than I think however I'm curious how the police were able to trace the drone back to anyone specifically unless the drones are registered.
By phart [Ignore] 26,Jun,23 09:24 other posts
If you go on youtube there are or were videos of people operating guns with drones and carrying things over fences and such. They are also used by thieves to case out places where cars are parked so they can find and steal what they want.
By bella! [Ignore] 26,Jun,23 10:52 other posts
Yes, I'm aware that drones have cameras and have been used to deliver food and toilet paper etc. But my question was are drones required to be registered?

Thank you for response and thank you for reaching out to your BFF Google. Initially, I was concerned whether it was United States Google or whether it was Canadian Google, eh? (Teehee) I was happy to see that you were able to find and post New Hampshire Google!

I specified its legality in the US.
By #610414 26,Jun,23 19:21
I don’t know about other states but in Florida you do. From Googlie app.
Yes. Florida drone regulations require that you register your drone with the FAA and firmly affix the FAA drone registration number to your aircraft prior to flight.

The last two batches of asparagus DID NOT make my urine smell odd. I wonder if it had anything to do with me sprinkling it with a liquid marinade and cooking it on a barbecue grill?
By #681164 26,Jun,23 17:05
I’m the keeper of the flame at home. The BBQ is mine and I’m the one that cooks on it. I use non stick foil with a hair of olive oil when I bbq asparagus, yellow squash, zucchini, and sweet onions. I sprinkle onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt, ground black pepper and Irish butter. Except for the asparagus, everything else is sliced into 1/4 thick slices. I cook it slow on a portion that has no flame, flipping it over every so often.
By bella! [Ignore] 26,Jun,23 17:26 other posts
My point was that I didn't smell my stinky and/or odd smelling urine. I'm wondering whether it is an issue with my nosr OR the way the way the asparagus was prepared?
By #610414 26,Jun,23 19:15
😆 haha, Woody thinks he’s the “Keeper of the Flame”. I own the matches. Anyway, it’s hard to opine on your pee smell without expert, scientific, research. Maybe it’s the way you cook it, maybe, like me this last weekend and today, you have a cold.

I guess I am the odd 1 of the bunch in more ways than 1. I have ration stamps from both sets of grandparents and even before I became disabled and had to adapt to a lower income,I was thrify. I always buy used clothes at charity places like good will that use the money to help the needy, I always wear out shoes completely, sometimes even have boots resoled to wear out again. I rebuild engines or what ever instead of buying new equipment most of the time. It is just more full filling to not live in such a wasteful way.
Consumerism is just running rampant in this country and the landfills are busting at the seams, kids don't even know how to do anything BUT buy new when something stops working as it should.
Learning in college was a big help to. Most of the time, new tech, by the time it is on the shelf, is already out of date. The next big thing has been on the drawing board for months or years, they just drag it out to squeeze money. the new tv, oH! this 1 has more pixels than the last 1,yea right, once it gets to a certain point ,your eyes can't decern the difference, get your moneys worth out of the tv you have first
By #610414 25,Jun,23 19:23
Phart, I don’t see anything wrong with the way you live your life. Being thrifty is a good thing. When you say, “It is just more full filling to not live in such a wasteful way.”, that is you. It may not be for other people. You say you have ration stamps from both sets of grandparents. If so, they were used during the second World War and just after. Rations had to be controlled to help in the war effort, but, I know for a fact, because my parents and grandparents went through it too, that it was recognized as a needed help to the country but not liked by most people. I wonder what your lifestyle might be if, instead of being disabled, you were fully fit and a successful business owner. BTW, Goodwill sells free goods at a profit, but less than ONE EIGHTH of that profit actually goes to the job-related programs they market as their primary pillar of charity work.
I know we, as a society, throw out tons of good stuff that end in a waste dump. However, we, as consumers, have little choice but to replace. My last washing machine was a Maytag. It ran great for years. When it broke, Woody58, who was a Sears on site tech for over 20 yrs, knew I needed a new electronic control. The cost was over $285 for the part. The part was a “reconditioned” part good for a few more years. It’s not cost effective to put money to fix, so, I bought a new one. And that was for a repairable appliance. How many TV repair businesses do you know? How many calculators are still out there? How many mechanics know how to fix a carburetor? This is the land of plenty. We made it that way. Now we have to go with the flow.
By phart [Ignore] 25,Jun,23 21:34 other posts
Count me in on carburetors and I still have several calculators.

How many homeless people coulda been wearing those shoes instead of going into a lanfill?
By #681164 26,Jun,23 16:54
Money, mula, Gita, coin of the realm, all means the same and some manufacturer(s) is making money out of it. This goes against everyone’s idea of what charity should be. It’s not illegal but it should be.

You know, had old joe not cancelled Keystone it wouldn't be far from operational by now. and this would have little to no affect on us.
BUT no, he had to sign away our energy independence and we have this news to cope with.

We do import oil. That's been since the 1940's. We also export more than what we import. I'm tired of hearing about the "Keystone" pipeline. That was and is mental masturbation.

We never got a necklace to help with that.

I need to kick myself in the butt over what turned out to ne a BIG FINANCIAL MISTAKE....

Has anyone received these invitations for a lovely dinner at a nearby upscale restaurant? The hook is that you will be served this lovely dinner after you sit through a presentation on ANNUITIES. Yep, I attended 3 of these seminars and on the third one, I thought what the heck, let me see what happens. The majority of my financial assets are managed by Merrill Lynch but I had almost 42k in one of my accounts and I thought let's see what this other than Merrill Lynch guy can do. Last year on June 6, I turn over a $41,700-and something dollar check to this guy who is going to place it in an annuity. So in the beginning of June I receive paperwork from F&G Investment, the company that sold the annuity to me, advising me that annual paperwork is being generated and now will be the time to make any adjustments. I reach out to the financial advisor and he tells me that he thinks my money is on par and no need to make changes at this time. Well....last week I get the paperwork showing what my $41,700-and something did. I couldn't believe what I saw, my investment received interest in the amount of $126.00! I couldn't believe it! I called my advisor and then I called F&G Investment. IF I want to surrender/close my account, I would lose $4,800.00 HOWEVER, I have the option of withdrawing 10% over the next several years to allow the surrender penalty to decrease.

In the big picture of things, I feel like I paid for those free dinners that I attended.

I calculated the interest paid at being approximately 3/10th of 1% (0.003). Frick, that's approximately 2 tanks of gas for my Cadillac! Only $10.50 per month! Bwahahahaha! Bwahahahaha! Bwahahahaha! The joke was on me!

It is news like this that makes the old fruit jar in the stump hole seem like a good idea. BUT it aint either. I did that when I was 18, I put 20 bucks and a house key in a quart jar and found a pine stump hole in the woods here near the house. A couple months later, I locked myself out of the house. It took 2 hours and a shovel to get that jar out! It went about 2 feet in the hole when i put it in, it SUNK another 2 feet!. I couldn't reach it!

By bella! [Ignore] 24,Jun,23 06:21 other posts
Perhaps dgraff has not literally purchased his advisor a car however dgraff has contributed to his (the advisor) ability to buy said car. Gee, I hope I said that correctly.
By #610414 23,Jun,23 12:11
With that kind of money involved I would have ran it through an investment counselor. Our accountant is a long time family friend and he always tells me not to do anything without getting advice first. I wish I had listened to him when I had my 401K in 2008. I’m sorry. I don’t know if this might help, but, if you need or want your money back fast, try asking an annuity company.
By bella! [Ignore] 24,Jun,23 06:27 other posts
I was aware that annuities were safe, that you will not lose you initial investment and I was cognitive that annuities were slow growth. $10.50 internet per month on a $41,700 plus investment is TOO SLOW FOR ME!

99% of my portfolio is managed by Merrill Lynch however I have about 250k that I manage myself. The biggest portion of the 250k are two stocks, CVS and PepsiCo and are doing quite well. The 41k was not allocated anywhere so I decided to try an annuity. Not a wise choice on my part.....

Hi Sherryann- The heart touch is every 120 minutes. If you are voting on the "Best Image/Member" on the SIO site home page it is every 4 hours. If you vote before 4 hours has passed you get charged 20 points. Voting on a members pic on their page is not restricted. You can vote there as often as you want as long as you have 3 points in hand to spend on each vote. Hope that helps!😊

I believe that I was able to find the article you referred to, sherryann. Yes, crime happens elsewhere in the world, not just in the United States. The assault on the child and her grandmother looks unprovoked and quite aggressive. Very odd that the dog seemed so relaxed.

"When a long time member here told you he was not open to discussing further you listened. I say the same and have answered you. Have a nice day."

Yes, SherryAnn, a “long time member” did tell me he was not open to further discussions with me. That jerk also said that he was aware of my reputation on site for causing disruption. He accomplished two things with that response. The first is that he showed he couldn’t defend his position, so he picked up his marbles and left the game. The second was that it started me thinking, “Why do members come to a thread, a PUBLIC thread, and want to sensor other members from participating? I’m assuming they want someone like me to stay out of the participation, but, why don’t they just ignore a post and NOT ANSWER BACK?” I answer back any posts directed at me knowing full well I’m opening myself to whatever views the other poster wishes to post back……………….or ignore. Please grant me the same privilege.
You, SherryAnn, have always been treated by me in a very deferential way. I disagree with your views almost every time, but, because I believe that your views are genuine due to your experiences, I try to be much gentler when I respond to your posts. I like you very much and I know you are much loved by many members including Bella!. My first reaction to your post was to respond with, “Same”. I edited that out. You have your right to post as you see fit and that’s why I’ve decided to post this. It being my right as a member, long time or not. I’m sorry but I should not have let that other Jerk (I don’t remember his nick) get away with his reply to me. I’m putting it down to getting somewhat shaded to the politics of the forums. And, I don’t think I can give you the benefit of the doubt. I’ve ignored many of your posts because I didn’t want to upset you. Please, if I post something directed at you or about something you are interested in, and don’t want to “discuss it”, then ignore it. I will try not to ever react to anything you post again. As you’ve said, “Have a nice day.”.
By sherryann [Ignore] 25,Jun,23 19:06 other posts
Thank you CAT. I appreciate everything you said. I'm sorry I didn't know for sure what deferential meant. But anyway thanks and I understand your post to me and appreciate it too
By bella! [Ignore] 25,Jun,23 20:40 other posts
The root word is deference (I think that is the proper term, root word) and deference is a synonym, aka another way/word for saying courteous/respectful.
By bella! [Ignore] 25,Jun,23 21:02 other posts
I have been one of many admirers of sherryann for probably as long as she's been here. I appreciate sherryann's demeanor, in my opinion, she is thoughtful and courteous to everyone. Although she is very selective about the few people that she adds to her "Friend" list, and I am not on that list, over 300 members have added her as their friend! In my opinion, that speaks loudly about her.
