This is a legitimate question that deserves a legitimate response. The term apartheid was used in South Africa for the purpose of segregation based on race. We, Americans, probably in most cases, our "relatives", just referred to it as just plain ol' segregation. Segregation was a big thing in the South in schools, drinking fountains, public transportation, etc were designated for white only. Movements in the 50's and 60's brought an end to segregation however 60+ years later, there are people that are still very prejudiced with regard to another ethnicity. And in the United States, in the 21st century, the preconceived opinion of another based on their race, creed, color, is not unique or limited to only white people.

I don't think that all of them are that gullible. Many know those are fakes, they just don't care. I've seen direct statements about this.

I'll try to explain. When you go to a movie like "Harry Potter" or "Avengers" - you surely know it's all fake. Just a bunch of actors pretending and CGI animators doing their jobs, none of it could happen in reality. But you still enjoy the movie. You don't concentrate on that reality, you concentrate on your perception of the illusion.

I think it's the same with the fakes. Also, there is a circle-jerking "phenomenon". People know it's fake, but still write compliments because the guy also write compliments on their own fake pics. Pretty much the same happens with many peer-reviewed pseudo-science articles these days, sadly.
