Single payer healthcare is cheaper, because it eliminates the unnecessary for profit middleman, the ridiculous amounts of bureaucracy, all those marble insurance buildings, all those management structures and all the commerce needed to 'inform' clients that they are the least horrible unnecessary for profit middleman, in a horrible system, that fucks over their clients, for profit.
Healthcare is something people need to stay alive or to be able to function.
The insurance system adds incredible amounts of unnecessary waste.
That combined with insurances making huge profits from that necessity, subtracts
lots of money from the system, that could have been used to help patients.
That hurts people and society, because then people are not able to take care
of themselves if they are sick and they are not able to contribute to society.
That will get the government somewhat out of their care and let the vets have more choice of where to go.
