Staffing Was ‘Not Normal’ at Reagan Airport Tower, According to F.A.A. Report, NYT
only registered users can see external links
"The report, reviewed by The New York Times, said that one controller was communicating with both helicopters and planes. Those jobs are typically assigned to two people, not one."

"Like most of the country's air traffic control facilities, the tower at Reagan airport has been understaffed for years." "The tower there was nearly a third below targeted staff levels, with 19 fully certified controllers as of September 2023," it said. "The targets set by the FAA and the controllers’ union call for 30." "The shortage has forced many controllers to work up to six days a week and 10 hours a day"

You cannot expect anyone to do that job for 60 hours/week and not make mistakes.
It's exactly that Dirty Dozen of Human Factors that I pointed to, in this case; Fatigue.
Behind most Human Factors is a systemic problem, which in this case is under-staffing.

Ken Klippenstein posted a letter from an airline pilot on X, see below.
The pilot clearly confirms the staffing problems at air traffic control towers. It's not DEI,
it's airports saving money by skimping on personnel. It's also related to airports operating
of subcontractors, instead of on controllers who are directly provided by the FAA.

Well she was detained. Probably if her paperwork is in order she might come back. if not, um.

that's what I mean, perhaps she doesn't have it in her purse 24 7, perhaps it was at home. Perhaps ICE can link into a computer and see that document, either way, post a update on this when you find it.

When you have fly poop in with the black pepper ,it is difficult to sort out.3 illegals among 20 of the same people ,you tell me how you sort it out if you don't detain all until checked?

In any case, it's not the drugs-dealing rapists, he was talking about,
but decent hardworking people, he is now deporting.

All the Latinos for Trump are now finding out he DID mean their family.
All the farmers who voted for him are now finding out he DID mean their workers.
And you will find out what an effect it will have on your country.
By phart [Ignore] 29,Jan,25 11:22 other posts
well cnn is laying off workers, federal workers are being offered buy outs to leave, there will be plenty of people to pick vegi's. But they won't because they think they are to good for it and would rather starve and whine on face book than work at something "beneath" them.
That is 1 of the points you don't seem to understand.
Immigrants are essentially slaves and we outlawed that years ago.

You're showing you don't give a second thought to someone who
has his wife or family deported, or the person who is deported
with nothing, or someone who worked their ass off for your food.
They are all just expendable to you.

And now you're doing make believe that deporting them is good,
because those people were treated as slaves. That's true,
ut the alternative for that is treating them better, not worse.
By phart [Ignore] 30,Jan,25 14:38 other posts
Do you think that people that marry illegals are totally ignorant to the fact the illegal could be hauled away? It just hasn't been enforced in years is why it is suddenly noticed.
Here is a google search result,

"Agricultural workers: Undocumented immigrants make up a large share of agricultural workers. In 2017, undocumented immigrants made up about 45% of crop farmworkers.
Food preparation and serving workers: Undocumented immigrants make up a significant share of food preparation and serving workers, including school cafeteria attendants and hospital food service workers. "

Now if you read that, you notice SCHOOL cafeteria workers.
Is it not illegal to HIRE a illegal? So what this means is the same schools that are whining about ICE coming in ,are probably the same 1's hiring illegals! The government it's self is hiring them. While paying welfare to AMERICANS.

Now here is a whole big page about it,
only registered users can see external links

"Though often the focus of illegal immigration debate, farmworkers comprise less than 1
percent of the entire U.S. labor force; and less than 5 percent of all illegal immigrants
work is in that relatively small sector
1% of the work force. wow, that small
These people have an education and skills. They will make themselves useful again.

Those jobs are not "beneath" anyone, they just pay too little to survive on for an American. You have allowed your farmers and meat packing industry to compete away American workers, by exploiting illegal immigrants.
Just how the job of truck driver is not being filled by Dutch people anymore, because they wouldn't be able to pay for rent and food on the hourly wage that Polish people get, you let the jobs of fruit picker and meat cutter be lowered to a level that is only economically feasible for an illegal.

It's how most jobs have deteriorated. A postman could feed his family in the past, now it's a job that doesn't pay the bills for a single guy. That's what capitalism did to the working class. Those jobs still create the same value, but most of that value is just going to the wealthy now.

Ok bare this in mind.
Google helped
" Yes, if you commit a crime, you are considered a "criminal" because a criminal is defined as someone who has committed a crime or has been legally convicted of one; essentially, the act of committing a crime labels you as a criminal.
Key points to remember:

Legal definition:
In legal terms, "criminal" refers to someone who has been found guilty of a crime by a court of law.

Not just about conviction:
While a conviction is necessary to officially label someone a criminal, the act of committing a crime itself is considered a criminal act.

OK< now how it relates to people coming into the US.

"“Illegal Entry”/8 U.S.C. § 1325 makes it a crime to unlawfully enter the United States. It applies to people who do not enter with proper inspection at a port of entry, such as those who enter between ports of entry, avoid examination or inspection, or who make false statements while entering or attempting to enter.Aug 23, 2021

Ok, so what do YOU read in that statement? I read that if a person comes into this country without going thru proper channels, they are committing a crime. Prove me wrong on that please?
Ok, so that means these "decent, hardworking people are criminals, because of the simple fact they circumvented the border.

Ok< now, let's both burn our credentials and go to Mexico without going thru the proper channels and see what happens?

"Simply put, illegal immigration is a felony under Mexican law. In fact, Article 123 of the General Law of Population mandates that “a penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five hundred thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally.

NOW, do you see any irony here at all or what? We simply try to send them back at OUR exspense to get shed of them and they are FREE to try to make a life for themselves at home. where as if you and i go down there to mexico illegally, we will get to stay for a while, but in JAIL .

What part of all this is so hard to understand?
Oh, let's check quatemala, maybe we can go there for a vacation off the record?

" Yes, entering Guatemala without permission, meaning without the necessary documentation and going through proper immigration channels, is considered a crime and can result in arrest, detention, and potential legal repercussions according to Guatemalan law; you could be subject to fines and possible imprisonment depending on the circumstance
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 30,Jan,25 12:17 other posts
It's a CHOICE whether your country turns something into a crime or not, and what the punishment should be for breaking a law.
8 U.S.C. § 1325 didn't exist before the 1920's and your country has increased the penalties for it.
I understand why, but at least I think about these things, while you just take it for granted that being in a country without the proper documentation should be a crime.
Mexicans have been working in your country for a very long time, doing shitty jobs for shitty pay, and instead of criminalizing it and going after the people who just want to work, you could also legalize and regulate it. Normally, I would also add "tax" (legalize, tax and regulate), but you already did that. Those people pay taxes in your country and get nothing in return.

Your country has exploited those people for a long time and you owe them.
Your side has done NOTHING to improve the situation, but only stirred up hatred
towards these people. I hope you finally learn something, when you find out how much these people did for your country. Don't you understand how this will hurt people like you the most? Those groceries will become much more expensive. Trump knew what he was planning and I'm sure they told him what horrible results
it would have. He just LIED TO YOU and you were dumb enough to believe him.

I wasn't just talking about Trump, but the unprecedented number of robber baron billionaires in his administration. I heard the number is 16 now?

You yourself don't consider what Trump ever did "work".
But I agree he wasn't laying around all the time, he was sitting sometimes.
His businesses were a failure, that's why he never had to pay taxes.
He just kept his father's wealth ongoing, by letting others do the work.
He knew how to get the "best people", like Michael Cohen.
Anything he tried to do himself failed miserably. It was all worth less than the debt
he owed on it. He did make some money by stealing from his contractors though.

Now he's doing phenomenally well though. Since he won the election his wealth increased by 50 billion, purely from all the gifts from the billionaires who want favors from him. Pay to play! Mar-a-lago has been overflowing with these people.
They are buying his crypto-scams to enrich him, then ask him favors.
Even people he is hiring are buying his shit, just to show their loyalty.

In any case, it's not an answer to: Do you think those politicians represent you?
However, since you think the wealthy should get everything, and normal people
should just serve them, you probably do think that they represent you.

Their property will be under water, long after they are dead.
The projected sea level, by 2050, along contiguous U.S. coastlines is 12 inches above today's waterline. Obama is 89 then.

Obama has a net worth of around $70 million. He cannot take it with him into the grave, so he's spending it on a nice coastal home up North, where it's much cooler in the summer and where the risk of hurricanes is the lower, than down South.

It takes at least a century for the oceans to warm up enough and the land ice to melt enough, for any critical sea level rise. The coming decades you 'only' need to worry about record high temperatures making life unbearable in the Southern states, hurricanes reaping more havoc on the South-Eastern coastal states, droughts making agriculture in Southern states impossible or very expensive, alternating with floods
when it finally does rain, and wildfires no matter how much you rake the forests.
All the rich and wealthy people have the resilience to be fine, however you and
all the other working class people do not.

Spend your time on what America has given YOU, instead of pointing out hypocrisy
of a millionaire, while you want the multi-billionaires to control everything.
Obama is fleeing to Martha's Vineyard, which is just a temporary hideout, lasting his life. Trump and Elon are planning hideouts on Greenland and on Mars, for their offspring.
Planning for something they tell you doesn't exist is the real hypocrisy.

They are planning for phase 1, when most of the Earth is a living hell and phase 2, when the Earth is completely cooked. They will need SOME workers or slaves to make Greenland more fertile. I think they plan to use robots to build accommodations on Mars. It's a ridiculous plan though, because humanity could never survive on Mars, without Earth facilitating them. Also, it's a billion times easier to prevent Earth from becoming
as uninhabitable as Mars is, than to make Mars habitable. The Earth would be good
for at least another 1.5 billion years, if we don't fuck it up.

The first Trump created food price increase is in the making.
The US is the second largest oranges producing country, after Brazil.
The largest part is produced in California, and it's harvest season right now.
The workforce who does that consists of 90% migrant workers, of which half is illegal.
They are illegal, because the Republicans blocked most efforts to give them green-cards.
Now Trump has sent ICE to California, to round up the illegals. The legal migrant workers are mostly fleeing too, because they fear ICE almost just as much as the illegals.
Now most of California's oranges will rot on the trees, which won't take long in the current weather. That will increase the price of oranges and FCOJ globally. It will go up more in the US, because of the 25% tariff on Mexico that will go into effect Feb. 1, on top of the already higher prices due to shortages. This will affect the American consumers, and the manufacturers producing products from oranges.

If you think hurting California is funny, understand that those farmers won't be paying profit taxes this year, some might go bankrupt and California is the largest sub-national economy in the world. It's the biggest tax donor state in the US, funding many red states.

It's not just the oranges; very soon those migrant workers would have harvested the almonds, cotton and other citrus fruits in Florida. Basically, most of your produce is picked by migrant workers. If you let Trump deport them, you will find out soon why grocery prices were not a good reason to vote for him.

What's the difference between the tax-payer paying it upfront
or everyone paying off a big debt for the rest of their lives?

Your choice is more people making $5/hour, because they couldn't afford an education and an economy that needs to import educated workers.
My choice would be to educate everyone who has the brains for it, so you can have
a high tech economy, so your country keeps being solvent against your $33.1 trillion
in national debt.
By phart [Ignore] 15,Jan,25 18:35 other posts
A big difference, a college kids debt is not the taxpayers burden. they signed the paperwork stating they would pay the debt, and now the government is doing it with our tax dollars.no fairness in that at all. How many people have gotten good jobs and paid their debts off? Is biden going to go back and give them a rebate? Hell no, he doesn't care.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 22,Jan,25 13:18 other posts
College kids will be tax-payers TOO.
You should want everyone to at least finish college.
Then everyone is paying for the college education they received.
Now you're just enriching debt collection companies.

People have rotten jobs, probably because they didn't finish college.
They probably couldn't afford it, and now they are poor.
To change that for the future, you change the system now.
It might not help the poor people, but every generation from now.
Poor people should pay less or no taxes so they wouldn't need that rebate.
You can also provide the education they are missing later, so they would
no longer be poor anymore.

There is no logic to your ideas, it's just envy turned into law.
There are many ways to improve education for everyone and pay it with taxes,
without anyone being disadvantaged by it. Education is good and if you put a financial hurdle on it, you're hurting your country.

I want my country to be the best at education and innovation and I'm willing to pay for it, because it has the best return on investment for a country. Unfortunately, my current shortsighted cabinet thinks the same way as you. They are cutting those investments, which will result in a lower GDP later, requiring more cuts. It's downward spiral.

Education is about LEARNING, raising them is the parents' job.
Education is about critical thinking, NOT respecting authority.
What do you THINK you are hearing Obama say?
There is nothing there that contradicts me.

Your side is teaching kids to distrust all science, from a young age.
You cannot come up with anything else than math, when you are referring to
what they need. You might accept history, but only the parts that tell kids their country is awesome, and strip out the bad parts. You want to teach them to be unconditionally loyal to your leaders, while The Constitution is written to enforce the representatives to be loyal to the people.

When those kids are in school, you have trained them to stop listening, as soon as something comes up that might encourage some independent thinking in them. They just sit there repeating Christian conservative dogma in their heads.
If the parents are not Christian wingnuts, they might both work 60 hrs/week to put food on the table and a roof over their heads. Those kids only learn to speak from the TV. It's only logical that it would cost American teachers a bit more effort to put some knowledge in those messed-up or empty children's heads, compared with my country, where the parents are less fucked-up themselves and they have time to talk to their kids and teach them some basics.

I have now years of experience talking to right-wing Americans on this website and got to know about 5 of them a lot better. There are certain topics in science that you will NEVER learn. I'm not talking about believing, I'm talking about understanding. The science on these topics is so well supported that understanding means accepting. However, if would require the complete NASA budget and the lives of several teachers, who will be committing suicide in total despair, to just get those 5 right-wingers on this website from the Peak of Mt. Stupid, anywhere near the Slope of Enlightenment, on global macroeconomics, political science, evolution, climate change and immunology.
