Hello World.
HERE will be the NEW HOME of all the strange and odd things I have feelings about. You could consider this, Phart's Brain Farts regarding world or local news.
There will be freedom of speech here.Just don't violate someone elses.

Really now? Well what is really despicable is the mess at the border with folks coming in willy nilly bringing their dope and their virus's and diseases we have eradicated decades ago. Instead of putting all your air into denying it, PROVE THE THEORY WRONG.
There is overwhelming evidence of a problem brewing, and unless democrats can gain from it,they would be otherwise trying to stop it.

I tried to tell people here in Colorado to NOT participate with the saving energy/smart thermostats years ago...just this week the AC was shut down remotely in 100 deg heat in their homes. Like all fkn day!! I wonder how they feel about climate change now...It's ALWAYS hot here in the summer...duhhhh. Hmmm, on another topic...I'll bet the people in Cali are happy to have their EVs that can only be charged when permitted.

finally out of frustration I filled a complaint with Arbys corporate office today.7th time I have tried to eat there in the past couple weeks. They have been open a month. Me and my dad went by there, hoping to get the 2 for 6 deal that has been posted on the window for weeks. I told him I doubt the door is unlocked. Well, sure enough, door still locked, handwritten sign looked like a 2d grader wrote it, "dining room closed".
And the 2 for 6 sign gone. We went to Wendy's. I told my dad if we go thru the drive thru after being seen on camera trying to get in the door that we would be playing right into their hands. ,they are "training or conforming" customers to use the drive thru because they are to fucking lazy to keep the dining area clean and don't want to FACE customers when they have screwed up orders or are having to wait to long.
Folks, the wuhan virus thing is over, people should be BACK TO WORK and things should be up and running. IF you don't get the service or the product quality you pay for,STAND UP and make your feelings known to who ever is in charge. Nothing will change if we keep grumbling to ourselves and do nothing else.
By JustWill [Ignore] 01,Sep,22 18:05 other posts
Or, you know, maybe the dining room is just closed.

Not everything is a massive conspiracy to bring an end to civilization as we know it...
By phart [Ignore] 01,Sep,22 21:25 other posts
They have staff, they have been "open" for a month,no reason they can't serve customers inside the building other than lazy.
I went thru google reviews while on the phone and there were multiable complaints from other people about cold food, long waits and orders made wrong and no way to correct it without getting back into the long drive thru line because of the dining room closed. I was 1 of many.If I had a google account,i would have left a review there as well.

I have no idea what it takes to run a fast food restaurant but having enough staff seems to be high up on the list. If you don't have enough staff, you will not be able to adequately serve your customers. My guess is that the majority of people that go to "fast food" want the "fast food" experience ie, place their order at a speaker, pay at window #1 and pick up their bag of vittles at window #2. Of course there are going to be some folks that want to eat inside of the establishment rather than in their cares but alas, your local restaurant does not have the staff to accommodate both the drive thru and dine in customer so they choose to eliminate the dine in option. Hey, I wouldn't let that ruin my day and suggesting that there is someone manning their CCTV is a bit wild! For heaven's sake, they don't have enough staff for that!
By JustWill [Ignore] 02,Sep,22 09:48 other posts
What if the closed dining room is part of an evil Arby's plot to train lunatics to go to Wendy's instead? That way, Wendy's has to deal with the crazies instead of them.

You're playing right into their hands!

Yes, let's blame those lazy workers. Imagine not wanting to work in a thankless job with poor schedules and low pay. How dare they? Should be shot and tarred and feathered.
By phart [Ignore] 01,Sep,22 21:26 other posts
why are they even there if they don't want to work? Why was a guy looking at me today when i pulled on the door if they don't have enough staff?
I will update if I hear back but I doubt I will.
By bella! [Ignore] 02,Sep,22 00:35 other posts
phart, for real, you let something like the dining room of a fast food establishment being closed to send you over the edge? Face it, life as it was pre COVID no longer exists and for something like the closure of the dining room cause you to contact their corporate office is nothing that corporate can really do anything about. I'm curious, was the corporate representative able to resolve your concern to your satisfaction? Probably not, just sayin'.
By phart [Ignore] 02,Sep,22 10:04 other posts
Thus far I don't think the lady on the phone gave a fiddlers damn about it, she just made it seem she was doing her job over the phone.
Things accumulate. Yea, the closed dining room for Weeks was 1 of many things that has frustrated me. 2 friends dying over the course of a month, a 3rd 1 recovering from cancer, another in the hospital after a stroke. I had to put 1 of my dogs to sleep last week because he had become paralyzed and couldn't eat without me placing it in his mouth or drink water without me pouring it in .he went down hill in the matter of a couple days after a few weeks of not walking well.I have alot of other stress's going on. And all the hell I wanted to do was sit down in a new restaurant in town and eat a couple roast beef sandwich's. To get away from the hustle, bustle and take my mind off my troubles.
By bella! [Ignore] 02,Sep,22 11:02 other posts
I'm sorry to hear that you felt overwhelmed by the blows of life. One friend in the hospital after suffering from a stroke, losing two friends in a short period of time and making the decision to euthaize your beloved pet, all very sad and stressful. On the upside, you did mention that another friend has recovered from cancer and that is a blessing.

I got my "arbys" fix today. 50 miles from home!
That 2 for 7 deal,a "gyro"? and a beef and chedder,it was good.
And no,so far no sign of any response or concern from them about my complaint.

Dang, phart, you drove 50 miles to buy an Arby's sandwich?? Was it good and were you able to eat it in their dining room? And the deal you were initially going for was 2 for $6.00, what happened?

Mississippi, is a stark reminder of how far out of reach most of the South remains for Democrats. If Georgia is the epitome of the “New South,” Mississippi remains very much still the old South: a conservative stronghold where the GOP is composed almost exclusively of white voters, and the Democratic Party of Black voters. Jackson, Mississippi has been denied funds to fix their water system by the Republican State legislature. That's because the city is predominantly Black and Mississippi is an old time racist state.
By phart [Ignore] 01,Sep,22 12:51 other posts
At the root of the challenges in Jackson are decades of underinvestment in a sprawling water system made up of roughly 1,500 miles of water mains, some of which are over 100 years old. In 2013, the city sought to overhaul the system through a $90 million contract with Siemens to upgrade sewer lines, water-treatment plants and to install a new water-sewer billing system for residents.

Kembo posted a good link that is unbiased and explains the problems.

Sure a republican vetoed a bill, but he had reason.

In vetoing the bill, the governor acknowledged that residents "got overcharged in the past," but said the legislation would allow "politicians to say that individuals are not responsible for paying their water bill." Reeves also said there were "no safeguards in place" to ensure aid would go only to "the impoverished or needy."

By CAT-2 [Ignore] 02,Sep,22 19:44 other posts
Jackson, Mississippi is the capital of the state of Mississippi. Advocates say environmental racism is to blame for Jackson water crisis . Environmental advocate Mustafa Santiago Ali discusses Jackson, Mississippi's water crisis as the city's failed water system ignites conversations about environmental racism.
Executive authority in the state rests with the governor of Mississippi, currently held by Tate Reeves, a Republican. The Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi, currently held by Delbert Hosemann,a Republican. Both are elected on a separate ballot. Both the governor and lieutenant governor are elected to four-year terms of office. Since 1992, all the governors have been Republican except for one term in 2000-2004.
Mississippi has six electoral votes in the Electoral College. Trump scored a convincing victory in Mississippi, a socially conservative Bible Belt state. Jackson has struggled with safe water access for decades and has lacked the funding to implement change. Mayors and city council members have called for repairs SINCE THE 1940s, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reported. In the 1970s and again in 2020, the EPA warned that the city had to get serious about updating its infrastructure to improve water quality. The 2020 report highlighted lead pipes, faulty monitoring equipment and insufficient staffing. Years of neglect have built up and in 2021 alone, the city had dozens of boil-water notices due to the old, fragile water system.
Jackson IS THE CAPITAL OF MISSISSIPPI. IT'S THE SEAT OF POWER. Yet, the city's infrastructure is screwed up because the city is predominantly Black.

I disagree, we need common sense.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 31,Aug,22 12:44 other posts
Agreed, you need common sense. You acquire common sense by training your logic
and reasoning skills and increasing your knowledge. Some 'book smarts' might help.

But, here's the catch. Common sense is neither common nor sense. There's not a whole of sound judgment going on these days, so it's not common. If common sense was common, then most people wouldn't make the kinds of decisions they do every day. People wouldn't buy stuff they can't afford. They wouldn't smoke cigarettes or eat junk food. They wouldn't gamble. And if you want to get really specific and timely, politicians wouldn't be tweeting pictures of their private parts to strangers. People wouldn't do the multitude of things that are clearly not good for them.

And common sense isn't real sense if we define sense as being sound judgment because relying on experience alone doesn't usually offer enough information to draw reliable conclusions. Common sense is a contradiction in terms. Real sense can rarely be derived from experience alone because most people's experiences are limited.

I copy/pasted the hell out of it, but if it whetted your appetite, you can read the rest here:

Prove socialist like you have no common sense. Sure people make mistakes and many times we overlook it. But, what the woke left are doing is unforgiveable and stupid.
By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 01,Sep,22 11:54 other posts
Common sense is flawed. I've progressed beyond common sense.
I use data, facts, logical reasoning and the scientific method.

Woke means 'alert to injustice in society, especially racism'.
Is that unforgivable? I guess you like injustice and especially racism.
The left creates better societies. Your fascist values just create suffering.
By phart [Ignore] 01,Sep,22 12:53 other posts
that is the politically correct version of woke. The definition of woke to most of us is a group of people expecting the working to pay for the non working and to give them more rights and advantages than the working class.
Woke people think that just being born black makes you a victim and being born white makes you supreme. Strange the white people simply want to go to work and earn a living while the blacks enjoy playing the part of victim. The black people are victims of their own ignorant following of the liberal democrat that simply lies to them to get their votes and then leaves them to fight for their rights on their own. When will they ever learn?
By tecsan [Ignore] 01,Sep,22 23:13 other posts

Why do all democrats insist that the US southern border is closed. I get it that the legal entry points are basically closed.
By CAT-2 [Ignore] 23,Aug,22 14:24 other posts
What do you mean by "all"? The Southern border is far from closed. You mistake handling illegals with a touch of humanity and dignity with looking the other way. While we are on the subject, we have a huge shortage of labor that has little or nothing to do with the Covid epidemic. Most of those shortages are in the hospitality and fast food sector. Why not let the illegals stay with a probation period of getting work in different locations of the US to fill that void?

They are working, it's just work that doesn't deserve dedication.
Obviously your local burger king cannot find any better employees or they would be out the door. Burger King could also chose to be a better employer and attract better employees.

I see it as an alternative to unions. When unions are being cracked down on by employers, employees fight back, for their rights, with other methods. Choosing to be lazy and indifferent, unless employers provide better jobs with better benefits is also a strategy. It's an employees labor market now and employers better get used to it.

Still, I hear this from you all the time and it's not a new thing.
I have seen a few useless employees in my country too, but not like you are describing. I think it's not laziness, because Americans work longer hours per week than any European country. I think people are fed-up with your system and don't want to be exploited to enrich billionaires anymore. I see how Biden's approval ratings are shooting up, when he tries to do some things for normal Americans
and I see how Bernie is still the most popular politician in the US and I just know; Americans are ready for socialism.

It's just a minority who is crying for a fascist dictator to take over.
By CAT-2 [Ignore] 26,Aug,22 11:24 other posts
Low pay, bad hours, no health insurance= poor performance employees
By CAT-2 [Ignore] 26,Aug,22 11:22 other posts
Even if they all go to work, there's still a huge shortage of workers. Should the businesses close?
Tecsan is probably referring to me. It's a srawman argument.
The border has never been closed ever. And even if the wall is impenetrable, there are other ways to get in a country than walking over a border. Many illegals just take a plane, say they are in the US for vacation or to visit family and never leave.

Unless the government cracks down on farmers and businesses who illegally use illegals for cheap labor, the illegals will keep coming. Right-wingers don't like it that illegals undercut them with cheap labor, but they don't want to touch the providers of the labor.

It's similar to the drugs problem. The US has a huge drugs problem, because your healthcare sucks and many people have horrible lives and no hope for better lives. Those people end up in drug addiction. When there is demand, there will always be supply. The US has tried to cut that supply by cracking down on drugs (dealers and users) for decades now. It has not worked. However any country that decriminalizes drug use and treats it like a healthcare problem, massively decreases drug use and the problems attached to it. The Netherlands hasn't gone that far, but no one goes to prison for drug use and even dealers are not punished very hard. Getting any drugs here is easier than buying bread. And still we have much less drug addicts and drug deaths.
It's just easier to lower demand than lower supply.

The problem with illegal employment is competition. It's a race to the bottom in wages. That affects your wages, but it also affects employers. Employers who use illegal employment have lower costs. They are Unfair Competition to employers who do NOT use illegal employment. It creates an incentive to use illegal employment too. It's a downward spiral, unless the government cracks down on the illegal employment providers.
By phart [Ignore] 24,Aug,22 11:48 other posts
Drugs should be done away with, not accepted as normal.
the labor shortage could be dealt with if welfare was harder to get.
we don't owe mexico or it's people a damn thing.or any of those other illegals for that matter.
They can stay home and fix the shit there instead of bringing their lifestyles and polio with them here.We had alot of issues dealt with like bed bugs and polio but it is coming back. Gee I wonder why? All these illegals are bringing it in.
And the really sad thing is, if a American family wanted to vacation in New York, it would cost them 1000's in hotel bills and food.
BUT illegals can stay in 400 a night rooms for FREE .Why is that even close to being something a sane person would approve of? .

Why do you assume these people are filthy? BTW, these are not illegals. The move to New York is voluntary and illegals don’t have that luxury. Also, the hotel rooms are the standard rooms. Not the $400/night ones
By phart [Ignore] 25,Aug,22 10:01 other posts
then why are all the articles saying 400? Besides the cost of living is so much higher in nyc that 400 a night is like 85 bucks in other places.

Fox News: you can judge better than I whether that is a reputable source of fact-checked news (ha fucking ha!), but I can happily inform you that relying on The Daily Mail for information is fucking stupid (nearly as fucking stupid as you are).

They've been a mouthpiece for alarmist, right-wing conspiracy theories since before either of us were born. Their piece de resistance, though, was their infamous headline of January 1934 - "Hurrah for the Blackshirts". Given your penchant for supporting Fascists that may not repulse you as much as it does others, but I thought you might like to know that your links are shit.
"Drugs should be done away with"
Your preferred methods failed in doing that. Try things that actually work.

"not accepted as normal."
Who said decriminalization is doing that? We should still tell children to not do drugs, we just don't throw them in prison for it, but help them get off. It would still be illegal to sell most drugs, except for a few like weed, shrooms, XTC and cocaine. Because millions of people use those now, without getting addicted. I would legalize, tax and regulate them, just like alcohol and cigarettes, because they are about as dangerous as alcohol and cigarettes.
It would be produced under regulation, so less people would die of a bad pill or thinking they bought cocaine, while it was actually fentanyl or some shit. People now buy from criminals. I would prefer them to buy from non-profit pharmaceutical company that was regulated and taxed severely, so no one benefits from it,
but people could buy safe drugs and so drug dealers go out of business.
That would also help Mexico, because the drug cartels there create lots of death and corruption. It would probably reduce immigration to the US too, because lots of Mexicans are fleeing from drugs crime related violence.

You know what creates problems like bed bugs and polio? Poverty and homelessness, which are caused by right-wing policies.

Since when are illegals supported with free five star hotel rooms?
You are confusing asylum seekers and documented immigrants with illegals.
Illegal immigrants are staying in your country illegally and when caught will be detained. Then they either get some sort of legal status to remain in your country
or get deported. If the government uses $400 a night hotel rooms for that, well that's an expensive prison. We use hotel rooms too sometimes, since we have 71.750 Ukrainian refugees in The Netherlands, but they are not illegals and I haven't heard
of the Hilton offering up rooms for them yet. All the shelters are full, so they are now sleeping in sports halls, empty offices, old schools, old prisons, in the homes of volunteers and in party pavilions on some grass courts.
There are illegals / undocumented immigrants in our country, but then they intend to register in another country. It's hard for them to live here, because we have cracked down on illegal employment and they have no access to any public facilities. They cannot open a bank account, rent a house or follow an education.
Illegals do have some rights here, it's called 'bed bath bread', to keep them from stealing, but they are incentivized to register and go into the immigration process.
It's their only chance for a future in our country, so most of them prefer to take that chance. We do end up with several tens of thousands of rejected asylum seekers that are not allowed back by their country of origin. They often end up in Italy, that does have a lot of illegal employment. They live in shacks by night and pick tomatoes for cheap tomato-sauce all day. They probably wish they never left their own country.

First, I must say that DailyMail isn't worth wiping my ass with.
It's low quality news and quite biased and sensationalist.

However, this seems to be true, because it's confirmed by several sources and I don't see any debunking articles. That's pretty stupid. I agree with treating refugees nicely, but luxury hotel rooms are 'a bit too much'. Politicians should know that things like this create indignation and reasonably so. There is that in our country, about immigrants getting houses, during a housing shortage. However, today on the news, we saw hundreds of immigrants and refugees living on a grass field with hardly any shelter, toilets, washing facilities or food, getting skin rash and not having access to medical care or insulin. As of today, for the first time ever,
Doctors Without Borders are giving aid in The Netherlands. (painful shame)

I would say there is a golden mean between $400/night hotel rooms and withering away on a fenced lawn.

By Ananas2xLekker [Ignore] 25,Aug,22 17:40 other posts
True, I'm not a stakeholder in US immigration.
My own country has enough to worry about on that subject.
It's worse than it has been in decades, because of Ukraine.
Still, we have one less problem than you, not a lot of illegals.
So, maybe it would be a good idea to use the best practices of other countries.
But off course, Americans think they know better than anyone else.
'Let's build a wall so no one can come in'. Well some don't, but they just keep coming, sit in front of the wall and die there, until the rest can cross over the pile of bodies,
like the scene in World War Z. That's the future, unless we stop creating and start fixing the problems in the world.
