Pornhub just deleted 80% all their videos

Surprised no-one's mentioned here that Pornhub deleted 80% of their videos about a week ago with zero advance notice - every video that hadn't uploaded by people who had been verified by submitting a face pic where they're showing a photo ID, and millions even from people who had been verified even though only unverified videos were supposed to be deleted. Doesn't matter what was in the video - literally every unverified one is gone, leaving most professional porn that you have to pay for.

- and then the same for Xtube and several other sites owned by the same company.

Buzzfeednews had lots of articles about it.

That happened to me on Pornhub too. I had also submitted pics to dozens of tumblr pages over the years, many which were deleted or made difficult to access.

Xhamster has also stopped picture uploads for all members and downloading of videos and also on a deleting spree. Not owned by Phub but there’s rumors around about DMCA coming down like a ton of bricks on porn sites, don’t know how true that is.

That's not even remotely true. You might be thinking of commercial videos by famous porn performers but many millions of the videos that were taken down were non-commercial self videos including even solo vids that don't show face.

Xhamster isn't set up for interaction and social features the way PornHub was, i.e. a little like SYD in that there were lots of features for connecting with people one-on-one and it was a major focus of the site. Xhamster has some of that but not as much as PornHub.

The real reason is to (1) shut down porn sites altogether; (2) slut-shame sex workers; and most of all (3) distract from the violence and non-consensual sex on Facebook. The far-right Christian fundamentalist organization that destroyed PornHub based their case on just 118 instances of c***d a**** that they found in the last 3 years, while during this time Facebook had 84 million instances (not 188 thousand - just 11 [rhymes with "mild" and "misuse", I don't know if these words are banned here - see the Buzzfeed articles.]

Then the New York Times took up the crusade, which is what is finally lead to the credit card companies shutting off porn sites, with exploitative, slut-shaming articles that encouraged destroying the lives of porn performers, by promoting the idea that society should ruin the families, careers and homes of women performers whose real names get leaked (on the grounds that making porn is - by the Times' reasoning - a shameful, sick perversion.) Meanwhile the Times articles used lewd, suggestive and misogynist wording and photos to concoct its own variety of scandal-porn for misogynist puritans.

I thought something changed, I couldn't find what I usually view and all this new stuff came up, that didn't really match the word searches. ... that's a huge purge, maybe their needed to purge to upgrade a system?? and so much of the amateur stuff is stolen, from sites like this, Ive often approached sites to remove things that belong to aussieman and I that have been poached from this site ... maybe they needed to get rid of that kind of stuff and make people more accountable for what they upload without the owners permission???
