I'm not going to ask you to betray a confidence here, but let me speculate a bit about his situation.

Yes, he could buy a camera and take his own pictures, but that wouldn't satisfy in the same way that having someone else take the photos would. Many people, men and women both, find it enormously rewarding and fulfilling to disrobe in front of others and be photographed nude.
