God I fucking love metal. Mostly thrash, death, black, doom, sludge you name it. Been listening to a lot of the older big four lately, Anthrax, FUCKING SLAYER, and Megadeth.

Just the other day I dug through my old CDs and was listening to Slayer's Decade of Aggression. They fucking crush live.

Can’t wait to see them this summer. Paid an arm and left for tickets. Can’t believe this will be the last time

There are three guys in ZZ Top. Two have long beards and the drummer has no beard. The duummer’s name? Frank Beard!

I used to work with this asshole and I was trying to get along with him but, well, he was just an asshole. I asked him one day what kind of music he liked to which he responded "I don't like music." What a fucking retard.

I'm Canadian so it's hard to say this here without getting arrested. I love rock music but I don't like Rush or the Tragically Hip, both Canadian. Justin Bieber and Celine Dion are too but it's OK to dislike them.
By #487013 15,Mar,18 13:41
I **** Rush. So over fucking rated. Getty Lee’s voice is like listening to two cats in heat dry humping.
By #502711 16,Mar,18 04:06
You'd have to be a real bland cunt to not like music. Who the hell doesn't like music?

June 1, 2017 was the 50th anniversary of the album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, released on that day in 1967.

Who can forget that album, those songs? The song that I hear played more often than the others is Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. Enjoy!

I remember like it was yesterday, playing truant from school to get my copy and playing it all that afternoon with friends. My only regret; I didn't look after the cardboard inserts and they are long since lost.
By bella! [Ignore] 14,Aug,17 09:49 other posts
You were truant that day? Oh my goodness! How many other opportunities and reasons were there for truancy? Hmmmm....??

Now about the cardboard inserts, what became of them?
By Andthisisme [Ignore] 14,Aug,17 15:56 other posts
The cardboard inserts are one of those mysteries of life...one day I had them...then after a while I didn't... and I have no idea why not

Sadly despite my worst intentions my truancy never did involve anything else worth repeating here.

I often wonder how others feel about music and how it affects them.

I wake up to music, I listen to music while getting ready for work, I listen to music during my drive to work, when possible, I listen to music while at work and of course, I am accompanied by music on my way home from work. Yesterday, while at work, I heard a Duran Duran tune from the 80's, a song that really wasn't that special at that time but suddenly and for those 2 or 3 minutes, I was 20 again......

Is it me or do other 'mature' folks find that the music of their teens and 20's leaves a bigger imprint on their lives than what they might be listening to currently?
By andrew999999999 [Ignore] 02,Jun,17 09:33 other posts
I agree. There's not much contemporary music I listen to. When I hear 90's music, it takes me back to my teens and early 20's. If I was that age now, I can't imagine today's music leaving the same imprint on me.
By Andthisisme [Ignore] 05,Jun,17 11:21 other posts
I am sure that I have read somewhere that generally a person's taste in music is formed during their teens and early twenties. That was certainly true for me. So many songs from the 60s' take me right back to a particular moment or event.
My CD and digital music and of course vinyl collections contains way too many from the 60's...but I love them.
By andrew999999999 [Ignore] 05,Jun,17 16:23 other posts
I agree. Although in my early teens up to about 16/17, I was into heavy/thrash metal a lot, but not anymore. The vast majority of music I listen to is from when I was 16 in '93 until now. Probably because I was at college and then university, meeting new people and hearing music they were into, and also that's when I started going to pubs and clubs too. There are some contemporary bands I like, not so many though, but most of my music is from the 90's and earlier, although the 80's isn't represented to well in my collection. Most of the music I buy now is from decades ago because of my musical tastes.

How was the club scene in Manny Andrew ?!! Did you go raving at all ? Or was it mostly bands ?
By andrew999999999 [Ignore] 13,Jun,17 16:24 other posts
It was, and probably still is, a good club scene. I was a few years too young for the Madchester scene of the late 80's early 90's, when Manchester was the place to be for clubs, especially The Hacienda, and of course bands like The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays etc.... I started clubbing in '94, when Oasis released their debut album. Used to go to student nights on a Monday or Wednesday for the indie / alternative nights, as well as Saturdays.
I went to gigs also, and still do. First band I saw was Skid Row in '90, I think. Good gig, never seen a band do so many encores that they ran out of songs. Saw Rage Against The Machine the first time they toured here in '93, just after I finished school, and plenty of gigs since then. Next gig I'm going to is Rodrigo Y Gabriels next month.

Been in a sludge/thrash metal kick lately. Crowbars new song is hella sick. Check out Falling while Rising. Meshuggah also kicks ass on their new album. Love Born in Dissonance. Testaments Brotherhood of the Snake is good to.

Meshuggah = gods.

But Ghost is the Swedish metal band that has been dominating my playlist recently. There is perhaps no more merry band of Satanists than they, for show or not, and it's fucking awesome.
