There is a new pest on the site. Someone pretending to be a female from the US. "She" offers to chat via WhatsApp, exchange nudes and then tries to blackmail people, threatening them with police or to expose them to their family or co-workers, extorting money.

I can't really stop it, because it's not just some weirdo, the scammer has access to many VPN services and has a set of various IDs, probably bought on "darkweb" or obtained via some other scam. It's not really that hard to get if you are OK with violating the law. "She" is usually reported and deleted within hours, but often manages to communicate with a bunch of members before that. Be aware and warn your contacts.

There is a warning on private chat page not to give your sensitive data to people you don't really know and it has been there for ages but it seems many ignore it at this point. This is a reminder not to. It's not there to prevent user drain from the site, it's there to protect you.

In fact, I encourage you to use messengers like Jami - only registered users can see external links for direct chats since it supports video chat this site does not. Because that messenger is P2P and completely anonymous (if you do it right, not using the same ID for anything else and using VPN on top of that just for extra safety). But for god's sake, do not give your real phone numbers or work or well known personal emails to people on this site you know nothing about.
