Following on from the 60th anniversary of the tragic deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson, a.k.a. The Big Bopper on 3rd February, today, 5th February, is the 36th anniversary of the passing of Karen Carpenter, aged only 32. I saw her and brother Richard at the London Palladium in 1976, a concert that has been ingrained in my memory ever since. Another tragic loss at such a pitifully young age, what a wonderful voice she had, brings me out in goose bumps every time I hear her. Please take a few moments of your time today to remember her.
