A great loss for the music world with the death of Jimmy Buffett. He entertained millions of several generations with his easy going ballads and storytelling. How many of us have sung along to Margaritaville beside a campfire with friends, and a good strong drink in hand. Millions, I would safely bet! He will be greatly missed.
I hope he’s dressed for the funeral in a White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean. They had better serve Cheeseburgers at the wake, too! And of course, blenders full of Margueritas .

Honestly though. I had no idea who he was aside from that iconic song, but for that he'll be remembered forever.

Anyone who has sailing experience will automatically be a fan. His grandfather was a sailor and inspired many of his songs.
And contrary to popular rumour he is not a blood relation to the billionaire Warren Buffett. Although Warren was a friend and mentor to the much younger Jimmy, as well as a competent financial advisor.,

Margaritavill was his only major hit, I’ve seen him several times at university of Miami and in key west. He spent a lot of time here in s. Florida, not my favorite singer but I’m sure he’ll be missed.
