It would appear that we have more in common than I thought before. I used to joke with my wife that my car was the "other woman". The white 1968 l88 Corvette is my car. I bought it in 1971 while in the US Navy riding nuclear ballistic submarines. I wanted to engage in amateur road racing after I left the navy. I replaced the 390 hp 427 and 4 speed transmission. I purchased an L88 engine from GM along with an M22 4speed. The racetrack went out of business before I returned home. I raced it a little bit, but there was no time as I pursued my career. It's primarily my hobby now. I've increased the hp to approximately 700 hp, added a Tremec 5 speed and dual disk clutch. The picture was taken at a car show here at the nudist resort where I live.
I bought mine for my 23rd birthday and it is still all original. The only thing that needed to be changed was the radiator. I replaced it with a stainless steel one. Other than that change, it has all it original parts. I do not count tires.
