**** problems - learn mindfulness

Hi! Just recently I posted about **** problems and got quite a few respondents with the same problem. We all seem to have resorted to masturbation to fall asleep again after nighttime waking.
To help others, I must report something which I have found helpful. Via an online search I found a free 8 week "mindfulness" course.
only registered users can see external links
I am into my second week and have already found I can relax when I wake and can fall asleep again. I recommend the course to anyone, though it does require keeping to schedule.

These type of things often do not work, plus they are a modified form of Eastern religious beliefs and practices.
Also many of these things are in fact an advance fee scam whereby money is requested upfront in order to receive any literature or details.

I'm sure they work for some and not for others. And there is nothing wrong with it being of Eastern influence per se. If one is religiously opposed, one can abstain.

As to scams, yes, they can be so. One just needs to be cautious about this.

Mindfulness and meditation help many ills and have for centuries.

WORD.

What do you mean by "WORD", Steffi?

I was replying to Reaching. It means you agree with what was said.

Thanks. I wondered what it meant.

John, I can assure you that the course exercises do work. They have done for me after just a week. There is definitely no fee. Mindfulness is to be introduced in all English schools as it is considered the practice will help students to alleviate stress and learn to concentrate better. There is no religious connection at all, except that meditation is also a part of some Eastern religions, but as I said, in this course there is no religious aspect at all.

Check out a book that's now free online. It's called "Creative Visualization" and the author is a woman called Shakti Gawain. My dad passed it on to me years ago and I tried a few of her techniques.
If you choose to search for the book and decide to give anything from it a try, I'd love to hear about it

I've had a quick search on the internet. The book looks quite interesting. Thanks for the advice. I will look into it.

For me, just like drinking, busting a nut has the opposite effect. It wakes me up. I also suffer from anxiety and runaway thoughts, which keep me awake regardless how tired my body is. **** meditation audio doesn't help for me either, as noise keeps me up. Unfortunately, I am allergic to the active ingredient of Zquil and have side effects from Ambien. So, I just have to mix the booze with some pills, and I am out like a light.

As Ambien (Zolpidem) seems to have some of the LEAST side effects of sl e e ping medications, I'm curious as to what side effects you had?
By #497672 12,Nov,15 03:16
In about March, this year, I finally came off using an antidepressant sleeping tablet. I had been on these since I had needed it to overcome the pain of gall stones in about 1997. Yes, I slept, but always had very disturbing dreams. this is why I wanted to stop using them, but they wee addictive, which is why it took so long to come off them. Recently, the temptation to use them has been strong, as the insomnia didn't improve, but things are now improving.

Thank you for this. I suffer with insomnia and am interested in checking this out.

I'm so glad it's helping you.

Hi, Steffi. I was a member under the name "Laurence". We corresponded often. The course is helping me - I can recommend it. The 8 week course is totally free and is based in the USA too. There is a lot of practice of various types of meditation and ways of coping with stress, pain, communication, compassion as well as reading and videos to watch. You are expected to practice at least for 30 minutes a day. I was waking after only about 4 hours in bed and finding impossible to go back to ****. With in the first week I could relax and fall asleep again. Everything is available to view and reading is downloadable. Hope it helps you. Best Wishes
