I suppose you could make the distinction that a Nudest prefers nudity at all times, in all places, and by all people whereas a Naturist enjoys being nude outdoors and/or in public. I am pretty sure that the term Naturist came about to soften the resistace of non-nudists to the term Nudism. As for me, I have always been both a Nudist and a Naturist; I'm nude almost always at home and have hiked and camped at many places sans clothes. It's even better when my wife or one of my old GFs is along as the scenery is always more beautiful.
