A 'gap' is a space, often empty, between 2 objects, such as a spark plug, (or even possibly the 'space' between this person's ears maybe?). A 'gape', or something that is 'gaped' is something that is 'spread wide open', which could be a pussy of course, or often is, IMHO, the written equivalent (in this Forum), of of a mouth 'spewing empty words'.
